Edit Default Emails in Email Settings
We’re thrilled to roll out Edit Default Email Templates in Email Settings — giving Client Portal Owners the ability to edit and customize the default email templates used across the portal. Now, instead of using default emails as-is, portal owners can generate their own editable version from the default template, tailor it to match their tone and message, and preview exactly along with corresponding custom fields for the emails — all from within the Client Portal.
What’s New?
  • This release introduces the ability to:
  • Create custom versions of default email templates that were previously locked
  • Preview templates with along with the custom fields used in the emails
How to Use It
This feature is now enabled for Client Portal Owners with based on their access to their different apps such as communities, certificates and courses.
Here’s how to get started:
  • Navigate to Sites → Client Portal → Settings → Email Settings or Memberships -> Client Portal -> Settings -> Email Settings
  • Under Email Settings, you’ll see each app listed with toggles and email options
  • Click the Default Template button for any notification you want to customize
  • Next to the selected template, click the Edit (pencil) icon
  • Click “Proceed” button — to create your own editable copy of the default template
  • Once generated, you can customize email content
  • Use the Eye icon to preview exactly how your email will look
  • Save selected template — it will now be used for that specific notification type
Why This Feature Matters
  • This update was driven by popular demand — many users wanted the ability to edit the default templates directly, rather than having to create a new one from scratch each time.
  • Clearer Communication – Add context, remove clutter, and keep the original style while tailoring content to your users.
