This update introduces significant improvements to the Cookie Consent Banner in the Page Builder and Preview. It gives you enhanced control over where the banner appears and allows full customization of button and popup texts to better align with your brand and compliance needs.
1. Region-Based Display Controls
Users now have the flexibility to control the visibility of the cookie banner based on visitor location. The following region options are available:
- Worldwide:Display the banner to all visitors regardless of location.
- EU & UK:Display the banner only to users in European Union member states and the United Kingdom.
- Select Countries:Manually choose specific countries where the banner should appear.
This update helps reduce unnecessary prompts for users outside regulated areas while maintaining full compliance where required.
2. Customizable Text for Buttons and Popup
You can now fully edit the text on all buttons in both the banner and the cookie preferences popup. This allows for clearer user communication, better alignment with your brand voice, and improved localization or accessibility where needed.
This includes:
- Banner buttons: Accept all, Accept essential, Customize, OK
- Preferences popup buttons: Reject, Save preferences, Cancel
Important Note on Translations
- Once you customize afecony of the default button or popup texts:
- Built-in internationalization (i18n) translations will no longer apply.
- You will need to manually add translations for each language you want to support.
- Be sure to update all language variants if you serve a multilingual audience to maintain a consistent user experience.
