Partial Payments Support on the Orders API

Modified on Thu, 12 Jun at 4:49 AM

What's New
  • Businesses would be able to collect partial payments from their customers on checkouts supporting Partial payments via Orders API.
  • Similar to Invoices, a Collect CTA would be visible on the Order Details page of partial paid orders.
  • This would allow businesses to collect payment in multiple parts via multiple means - Manually or Using a card on file or Adding a new card.
  • An example of this would be when someone books a calendar appointment for a hair cut worth $100, they can pay $20 as an advance for booking the appointment and the remaining $80 can be collected either manually or using the customer's card on file / new card, when they are at the salon.
  • This API modification would be available for all checkouts to utilize in building different use-cases on their respective checkouts where partial payments are required.
  • In the first phase this would be enabled for Calendars with support for others coming with time.
  • This feature currently works for one-time products only, not for subscription products.
What's Next?
Partial Payments would be available on the front-end via Calendars once they are live with the Orders API implementation.
